An operations business, not a cleaning agency
Opera Services was built to run a working short-stay portfolio. It has been doing that for nine years. We are now opening the same operation to other owners and operators.

Where Opera came from
Most short-stay service companies start with a van and go looking for properties. Opera started with the properties. It was established to deliver housekeeping, linen and maintenance across a portfolio of serviced and short-stay apartments in Sydney, Melbourne and Wollongong — buildings that had to be turned over every day, to a standard that had to hold up in public reviews, with no option to be late.
Everything we sell was built to solve a problem we had ourselves: checklists because generic cleaning briefs failed, linen hire because on-site laundry ate the turnover window, maintenance under the same contract because faults found by guests cost more than faults found by housekeepers.

The standard is one we hold our own properties to
Opera’s first client was its own portfolio: serviced apartments and short-stay buildings across Sydney, Melbourne and Wollongong — 1,260 keys across 27 buildings, turned over every day by the same housekeepers, on the same checklists, in the same systems that we now offer to other operators.
That matters because it means the standard on this site is not a document written for a website. It is a working operation you can inspect.
How we operate
- The systems — Mews, Flexkeeping, Duve — are ones we run daily, not ones we read about
- Capacity already exists. You are not the client we hire the first team for
- Every field team member is police-checked, inducted on our checklists and covered by our public liability policy
- We understand strata buildings, building managers, loading docks and access, because we deal with them every day
Opera engages a network of subcontractors rather than casual labour found job by job. We hold an Australian Business Number and operate as an Australian company. We are not a platform, a marketplace or a lead-generation service — the people who attend your property are engaged by us and accountable to us.
What we do not do
Opera does not take management appointments, does not list properties, and does not charge a percentage of anybody’s revenue. That is a deliberate boundary, and it is what lets short-stay operators hand us their operations without handing us their business. For operator clients it is written into the contract as a non-solicitation. More on that here.
We built Opera because we were not happy with what the market offered us. Every person we hired had an inherent conflict between doing a good job and finishing as quickly as possible. So we built a team that does exactly what we want.Yossi Ben Gida, Director — Opera Services
Coverage
Sydney CBD and inner suburbs, the Lower North Shore, Parramatta and Western Sydney, and Wollongong. Melbourne coverage opens in 2026. If your property sits just outside those areas, ask — the answer depends on volume and how close you are to a team we already run.
